A B O U T  U S

ASAP BLinds is a family owned and operated business started by Rick and Dawn Damerau, a brother & sister team, in 2000. We are located in Manasquan on Highway 34 between Lakewood and Paynters Road. Our location was once a residential home that we have converted into office space upstairs and our showroom is downstairs. We offer FREE in-home consultations and installations (few exceptions).

We got started in this business by complete accident. Rick, who has a backround in decorative painting/faux finishes, had many clients asking for window treatments. Originally, as an added service and as a convenience to his clients, Rick was able to find a manufacturer to purchase from to accommodate his clients who were only interested in wood blinds. Dawn's backround was in restaurant supplies and food sales. Her last position was with Otis Spunkmeyer selling raw cookie dough. So the combination of Ricks knowledge of decorative designs and Dawn's in Sales, they decided to start a company called ASAP Blinds, initially only selling Wood Blinds!! As we received requests and interest for other treatments, new styles were added to our line.

Four years later our business has expanded to additional employees, one being MaryAnn (Mom) who from the beginning has done all of our bookkeeping. Patti, who many of you might recognize, a favorite from Rod's Olde Irish Tavern, handles our Showroom. And another local favorite, Drew, who handles our installations.

We are a Hunter Douglas Priority Dealer, carrying their full line of products. We are also an Exclusive Dealer for Kirtz Shutters, a premier shutter manufacturer. We specialize in Hard Treatments, (blinds, shades, woven grasses, cornices, etc.) including plantation shutters & motorization options, both battery operated and hard wired. Recently we have added a limited line of soft treatments such as Romans, valances, panel, jabots and hardware. We pride ourselves on our prompt service and attention to detail that we offer each client in order to acheive the appropriate window covering.
